Remember When

Listening to the radio...

Brooks: Hey this is Chicken Fried!! I love Chicken Fried!
Kenna: Benember when Janessa & Jillaine were here? They let me listen to this. It's their favourite song I think. I mean, I don't know, but I'm pretty sure.

She has a pretty good memory, right girls? :-)

Vacation Time

Last night at dinner...I don't really know how the conversation evolved, but Kenna asked when we could go on vacation. I said, where do you want to go?. "Poppa's house, with the soccer ball"...that is Grandpa Kennedy's. "Can we go Mom, please!" I said, well, we can't go right now, we will probably go when you are 4. (Just trying to establish that it will be a long time, and not right away). BUT, I explained, you know who might come to us for a vacation when you are 3?, Janessa, Jillaine and Grandma Kennedy. "aaahhh! And they have a trampoline, and water, and everysing!!" Brian and I just smiled at each other. She has a good little memory! Hopefully she is not assuming they will be bringing those items with them:-)

Who Else?

This morning around 7 I heard the kids talking to each other in their room as they woke up. Kenna came rushing in to me, "Mom, Mom! You know, Lemon (Lehman) and Maryn? And who else?" Janessa and Jillaine? I answered. "Yes!" and she went running off again to her brother. I have no idea what that was about, but it was pretty cute.

Darn It!

Kenna has recently been getting in a lot of trouble for being saucy, talking back and/or arguing with an instruction (she has way better ideas:-)...
Today in the store I gave her a piece of gum with the wrapper still on it and she was struggling to get it free. "Darn it!" she says, "Kenna, we do not say darn it, those are angry words" I told her. A moment later she says, "but Mom, I am". "You are what?" "Angry!" she said her most emphatic voice. Yikes. I guess I am getting my payback now from my childhood days:-)

Shake it

Yesterday Kenna was singing and dancing around the kitchen. At one point she stops and keeps saying "I can't do it, Mom, I can't do it" over and over. I finally ask what she can't do. "I can't shake my body" she replies as she tries to shake her butt. I cracked up laughing, it was just so random and funny!

A funny

Today as I was starting to get Kenna dressed I asked (rhetorically), "What do you want to wear today?" as I was looking through her closet. She says "I don't care, Mom". It was too funny as she said it so clearly and I have never heard her say that before. I guess we can really start having conversations now!

Group Hug

Everyone had to get up and say bye to Daddy before he leaves for work. Brian will be working for 2 weeks straight to try and finish the project (a B&B remodel). We are heading back to VA this weekend, so we won't see him for awhile:-(

Group hug! One of Kenna's favourite things to do...

Kennedy & Brooklyn Bolger

Here are Kenna and Brooks, the very adorable grandkids/neice and nephew. Kenna is almost 17 months, and Brooks just turned 3 months old. They keep me on my toes, and I am very thankful for naptime most days!
