My '70 Dodge Challenger

This is my second Christmas gift, a 1970 Challenger. With Brent and Chantelle's gift of money as well as winning a bet with Jillaine at Christmas time, I was able to buy a new car and paint supplies.

This car has taken the place of my 67 Chevelle for the best car I have done. Truely nothing went wrong with this model. It has a 340 cubic inch engine and 465 horsepower.

This time the hood fits! :)

I was going to paint it either hot pink or lime green.

Kennedy Kid Kwotes (from the past)

When I was explaining the chore assignment to the kids, Janessa (8) said in the most exasperated voice, "I know. I know. It's the F word." With a shocked expression, I queried, "The F word?" "Yes", she replied, "We have to do it with effort."

"Oh Maryn! Don't do that! It's not polite manners."
"What? I'm not picking my butt. I'm just getting the clothes out!"

Lauryn, 2 3/4 yrs, asked for a 'totem pole' for lunch. *{toad-in-the-hole aka egg in a frame} (Sept.'86)

Logan, at 16 months old, asked for a "cook cook" (cookie) and when Mom said, "Yes, I'll get you one", he responded, "No! Two."

When serving Jared a banana, he said, "Just leave the straps hanging down." (Oct.'85)

In a very loud voice, at the sight of a very large man, "Hey! Where does that man buy his pants?" (Lehman 5)

Mattea had been taken to her room due to a misbehavior. She came back down and in a few seconds she repeated the offense. Lauryn said, "Mattea, so your room." She replied with a huff, "I just came down from there. Mom, there's no point we just did that." To which Lauryn replied, "well, don't worry I have another idea."

After Kayla plowed through the room, obliviously crashing through our carefully constructed towers,

Mommy laughed: "Kayla what are you doing?"

Mattea (with a big sigh): "oh Mom, that's just what hooligans do!"

Talking about hiking
Darla: He fell into a crevasse...
Jared, laughing: Crevasse?! You mean crevice?
Logan: Crevasse...as far as crevices go, it's a really nice one.

The following conversation took place while checking out at Loblaws with an oblivious teenage cashier....
Mattea: "Hello man! Man? Man?! Mom, he's not answering me! Man? MAN?!?! Mom, he can't hear me!? EXCUUUUSSSEEE me man!!! What's your name??? Your name? What's your name??? (this is becoming incessant at this point - increasing in both volume and urgency)
Mommy to the cashier (who is not wearing his name tag): "Excuse me, she would just like to know your name"
Cashier: "oh sorry, its Ben"
Mattea: "Ben?! Wow....GREAT name!" {gesturing} "Mr. Ben....I am Mattea Newallo, and this {gesturing} is my friend, Kayla

*she continues to talk to random strangers and now not only introduces her friend, Kayla, but also me..."and this is my Mommy but her name is Lorrr-ne"

April 15/12 - While driving, Mommy was explaining teaching right and left hands by telling Mattea which way we are turning.
Mattea (holding up her two hands with a puzzled look: but Mommy? Where is my straight hand?

Mattea: Like my socks Mommy? I got them at Home Depot!

March 23/12 - Mommy (commenting to Mark about Kayla): "she looks just like you when she does that!"
Mattea: Daddy??? You're a GIRL?!?! (then bursts into a fit of laughter)

Brent: Lets say our prayer, dear Jesus thank you for my day. Thank you for my Mommy and my Daddy and my baby brother Keaton....

Marshall: and Lightning McQueen...

Brent: yes and Lightning McQueen... Please teach me to love Jesus...

Marshall: and Mommy (I guess he needs to be taught that it doesn't come naturally thanks!)

Brent: yes... and teach me to obey...

Marshall: and patience

Brent: and help me to have a good sleep. Please help me to be obedient tomorrow so I can learn first time obedience. Help me to have a good day tomorrow and stay healthy....

Marshall: and, and, and ummmm watching Cars?

Brent: maybe, please protect me and give me good dreams. In the name and the blood of Jesus Christ, Amen

While in a crowded store with Mommy, Mattea spots something that, based on her reaction, she had never noticed before...a very obese man...

Mattea: OH NO!!! MOM!!! OH NO!!! LOOOOOK!!! What HAPPENED?!?! What happened Mom??? WHAT HAPPENED?!?!?!?!Despite Mommy's attempts to quietly address her concerns (and get out of the store!!!), this yelling (combined with wild gestures and pointing) continued long enough and loud enough that both the man and his wife heard and the wife said, "Well dear, you have certainly got someone's attention!" Needless to say, this probably goes down in the record books as MOMMY's most embarrassing Mattea moment - to date anyway!!!:-)

Auntie Kari: Marshall what does a gangster say?

Marshall: WORD! Thanks Kari :P

Background info: Mattea can't say Kayla properly so it comes out more like "Key-ah"

Mattea: Wanna go Walmart?

Mommy: No, today we are going to Ikea

a few moments of silence as she ponders...

Mattea: I-Keyah? Noooo!!! I no wanna go I-Keyah, I wanna go I-Tea! How ‘bout me? How ‘bout Tea?

I guess its just not fair that her sister gets a store and she doesn't!

driving to music lessons: "I like talking to Jared about sports, but then he gets talking about history and geography and sheddin' his knowledge all over me." -Lehman

Lauryn steps on scale to weigh herself, Mattea rushes over to see the results...

Mattea: "TWO NINETY-FIVE???!!! WHAT DA???"

*In Mommy's defense, Mattea has not mastered number recognition yet!:-)

It became evident early on that her mouth was probably going to be the source of most of her troubles!
