Too sweet

I found this old picture on an old hard drive. It's just so precious I had to share! It was in 2004 I believe, when we picked Jared up at the Grande Prairie airport. Maryn was elated to see him!

Cruisin'

Piper loves going for walks and bike rides. The kids love to go on long bike rides through the trails in the park and Piper runs along beside. He gets so tuckered out on the long distance so they have to cut their ride short. Today, Beccy/Mom had a brain wave! Let him run and then when he gets tired let him ride! He absolutely loved it and did not struggle at all to get out!

Shrill Screaming Shriek

Last evening a salamander/geiko was spotted on the side walk at the steps to our front door. We all came outside to have a look. Not wanting this thing to ever get in our house, we got an ice cream pail and cut a little hole in the lid so it could breath. Davis knew of someone who might want it for a pet, so we needed to keep this thing until he could get a hold of him. I declared it was not coming into the house.

Lehman decided to help keep it warm we needed to add some leaves for the little guy. I gingerly opened the lid as he dumped in a handful of leaves. As went to replace the lid, the critter started walking up the side. I screamed and jumped back as did all of the kids and a did a 'dance' while squeeling. We did get the lid back on. Ewwww! I hate those things!

This morning the kids were laughing about me screaming and I said, "I know, I am usually very self controlled but not when it comes to lizards." Lehman said, "But Mom, it was so funny. It wasn't a scream. It was a shrill shriek of pure terror." Jillaine said, "It's the first time in my life, I've ever heard you do that. Man, I've missed out on so much fun in my childhood. How could we have lived this long and never heard you scream?" I assured them it has happened before. And, thank you very much, I am happy to have only a few of these isolated incidents.
And for the record, Gerard, as he was affectionately named (after Gerard Butler, if you're wondering), is still on the front porch until he gets picked up.

Little Girls

Here are a bunch of pics of Mattea and Kayla over the past two weeks (so Kayla 6 months and Mattea 26 months)

Little Miss Kayla is crawling all over the place now! She likes to play with anything that she is not supposed to, and her favourite toys are anything that doesn't belong to her! She is also sitting reliably and can move easily between sitting and crawling. She has pulled herself to a stand once already, so we are going to have our hands full with this little monkey!
She has had her 1st mischief - she pulled over an entire planter, spilling dirt all over my cream carpet! Mattea, who does not like messes at all, cried, while Kayla laughed!
Pajama buddies:-)
Note Mattea's lovely shoes and "pretties" (aka her gaudy string of beads). She loves to dress up in her shoes and "fanciness" and the proceeds to play with cars, trucks and balls!

I believe this was a pirate face...

This...is a smile. Apparently. Its the face we get when we ask her to pose for the camera. Perhaps we should stick with candid shots:-P On the other hand, it gives us a good view of her teeth - 3 of her canines just broke through this week!
Kayla, on her way out of the family room - where all of her toys are, and into the hallway where none of her toys are and most likely on her way to find any doors that happen to be open.
Her hair is growing slowly but surely...but seems to be getting thicker as opposed to longer, and is definitely much lighter than her big sister's! She also got her ears pierced on the weekend she turned 6 months.
Kayla had her first cold over the past two weeks...and although we lost a bit of sleep, she was cheerful through it all!

Kennedy Kid Kwotes - Archive

In a very loud voice, at the sight of a very large man, "Hey! Where does that man buy his pants?" (Lehman 5)

19 month old Jillaine climbed up on Daddy's pile of lumber. When Mommy saw her, and before she could even open her mouth to scold her, Jillaine said, "Tand up ah Jeesah."

June 1982
When caught mid-swing and told “you shouldn’t hit Brent when you are angry”, Darla put her hands on her hips and said
: “well, I don’t know what else I can do. I have no other possibilities.
