Preparing for Rigsby's arrival to our home!
Travelling well...all 19.5 lbs. of him!

Drinking and driving!
Loving his new home!

Totally Surprised!

A friend sent me a Facebook message saying it had been a while since we'd had a visit and asked if Dave and I would go to LeMacron with them on August 4th. They treated us and we enjoyed our time together and conversation. She brought up the fact that their daughter was wanting to buy a guitar and Dave invited them over to give them a few tips.

As we were driving home, Dave said, "Let's take them through the side gate so they can see my shed. I think they'll like it." As we walked through the side yard, Davis was standing there in black dress pants, black shirt and tie. I thought, 'oh no! Were we supposed to be babysitting and I forgot?'

Before I had a chance to get any words out of my mouth he was motioning with his arm to come to the back of the house. As I rounded the corner there was a beautiful scene! Complete with two other couples sharing the surprise. I believe the first words out of my mouth were "55 is amazing" and then I believe it was "oh, I'm so glad I had Maryn pooper scoop the yard yesterday!"
As soon as Dave and I left the secret agents had sprung into action! They moved the dining room furniture out side, they brought in food, dishes and everything that would be needed.
Everyone knew their responsibilities and in two hours our house and backyard were transformed.

All recipes were hand made right in our kitchen with the exception of one of the desserts which had been made the day before.

Organized to the max!

Beautiful!
We were served menus to order from.
Davis and Jared served as our Maitre D's.
Classical music was playing and then all of a sudden from behind the hedge came the sound of live cello music. We enjoyed the most delicious food!
I think these kids should go into business.

They said they got too busy to take pictures of all the servings.
Presentation was excellent!

Not one detail was left out!
Well, except a picture of my amazing kids who created such a special birthday party!

Thank you Jared, Liana, Vienna, Davis, Danielle, Mackenzie, Kaden, Amy, Janessa, Jillaine, Lehman and Maryn. You have given me a very treasured memory!

A Dream Come True

Well, it is a known fact I love dogs! And have since childhood. And that I have always wanted a big dog. Over the years, I had narrowed down my favorite..the Bernese Mountain Dog. The "little" kids had been saying that I will never get my dream so I should give up. I joked that if I don't get one on earth God will have one for me in heaven.

For my 55th birthday, Dave held out two sealed envelopes and said that I was to pick one and that whichever one I picked that would be my birthday gift.

I said that I had to feel them before I could pick. Well, my touchy feely fingers told my brain to pick....THIS ONE...as I held my breath.

I opened the envelope and read the card. The room was filled with squeals!

I then had to ask what was in the other card. I made sure Dave knew that it was just out of curiosity and no matter what was in the card I was keeping the one I had.

I said to Dave, "See I always knew it was God's will!"

The day was a dream come true, complete with phone calls from the kids.  The rest of my birthday was rather uneventful. And I'll tell you why in another post.

Speed

I just don't know if I can handle all that speed!

Bach's 11 Cellos

Lehman playing 11 different cello parts on individual sound tracks - six parts are original to him.  He was inspired by Steven Sharp Nelson (The Piano Guys)

Mac Update!

I thought I should also post some updated pics of our little girl! Here she is - the bib is because she loves to drool!

This picture highlights her spiky hair - that Davis loves to help make even spikier by running his fingers through it!

Our home improvements!

So - this has been the summer of working on the outside of our home - interrupted by Davis' shoulder surgery, which dragged it out a bit, but it has come together really nicely (we think!) Here are ``during`` pics!

And after -

We are loving it! Probably my favorite part is the new deck that Davis and Kaden built!
